POLICY ADVOCACY

Farm practice Initiative in its endeavor to advocate for the adoption of the indigenous food crops, has realized that it is very hard to achieve its objectives to the fullest without the proper policy framework.

Production, storage, post harvest management, processing and marketing of IFCs are not at all guided by any policy nationally or regionally. FPI is working with other partners in the Agriculture sector to fast track, amend and get involved in the following bills. FPI seeks to have the national nutrition bill amended to include the inclusion of cassava, millet and sorghum in to mainstream milling of wheat and maize flours.

We are also seeking to have our input in the concerns of farmers in the crops and the ALFA bills.
